The map tiles within this package were designed to act as library of art assets that a Dungeon Master could simply just drag-n-drop onto a canvas to form a map.The package contains a wealth of raw image files in JPG and PNG file format. These image files form the building blocks which you can assemble into the form of a dungeon, fortress, monster lair, or whatever kind of adventure map structure you desire.Simply start with a blank canvas inside the graphics editing program of your choice, for example: Photoshop, or Gimp. Then start composing the form of an adventure location by grabbing a map tile from the library, then plonk it onto the canvas right where you want it to go. Keep placing down map tiles and your adventure map will take form like a giant jigsaw puzzle.Using map tiles permits very granular control over the form of your dungeon chambers and passageways, rather than relying on pre-constructed rooms which you cannot change. Once the structure of the map is in place, add the final touches by dressing your map with props and object tokens such as tables, chairs, statues, etc.
What is a Map Tile?A map tile, in the context of this set, is square of artwork depicting a specific 5ft by 5ft area of terrain. Such as the floor of a laboratory, an area of grass, or where the floor meets a wall.

All of the tiles have been rendered from a birds eye view of the landscape, with shadowing used to give the illusion of depth. Map Tile ScaleThe Studio WyldFurr range of digital role-playing tokens and map tiles all use a standard scale of 1 inch to 3 pixels, for a standard D20Modern or D20Future (or Dungeons and Dragons) character square of 180 pixels. Thus each map tile is a depiction of a 5ft square of terrain.
But we have also included smaller 50 pixel square map tiles for those of us who use the smaller 50 pixel square size. How to use the Map Tiles?The map tiles have been made as a kind of ready made art pack that you can simply just drag’n’drop onto a digital art canvas to build a map. To do this all you need is a graphics editing program such as Photoshop, Gimp, or another Map Making program that permit you to use pre-created tiles to build maps. We recommend using Gimp, it is free and is a very powerful program for this task. If you are not sure about what to do, we have a about building your own maps, which we have also added to the products zip file as a tutorial PDF. Walls Separate from FloorsWith our Dungeon Map Tiles III package we started to separate the walls from the floor tiles. We have found this gives us more flexibility with map building as we can combine different walls with different types of floor tiles to create different effects.
This pack continues this style of map tile, with two different styles of floor tile and a main style of science fiction wall tiles.

One of the reasons I started creating my own dungeon tiles is because I love playing role playing games like Dungeons and Dragons, Starfinder and Apocalypse World. I wanted some tiles that looked epic and were so easy to setup that they didn't interrupt game play, so Epic Sci Fi Tiles were created!All of the floor and wall tiles have connecting pipework that flows throughout them.

These are modular so you can spin them around put any tile next to another one and still get that awesome looking pattern below.I also print all of my files and paint them, to make sure they work correctly and look great once they are a physical object. (Apologies for my dodgy paint work below!).

That's why this time around we have included RPG style low walls as well as the tiles, these fit in perfectly with creating that feel of a spaceship that has landed on a desert or a remote outpost on some alien world.
