I just got off a chat with a eBay representative. The Picture Pack is not free. Anyway, the bottom line is eBay is having a problem - so it is nothing we are doing. They are working on it and hopefully it will be fixed soon.
I believe many accounts are affected - but not all. If not fixed soon, I can email her directly but she is sure they will resolve it soon. You don't have to have the upgrade to use the mouse zoom, only the pictures must meet a requirement of 800 pixels (I think that was the number?) My older photos worked with the mounse zoom, it is only recently that it stopped working for me. So I was looking in frustration to see what I did different with my camera settings. But now I am relieved that it is nothing we are doing! Hope this helps and only time will tell if the issue gets resolved. Perhaps you meant to type Picture Pack is now free?Anyway, Picture Pack is indeed free on the US and Canadian sites (since summer of 2012) and UK got free Picture Pack this past summer. It is automatically applied to listings, so you don't need to upgrade to it because it is already there.In the past, users were having problems when they inadvertently turned off free Picture Pack, and then lost the zoom and supersize features on their new uploads. That is why we sometimes advise sellers to make sure it is still selected.
Eventually, when Picture Pack is free in all markets, the option will disappear from all the listing tools.The Zoom capability may have disappeared from the Quick Lister (WebNext system) sometime last month. I sent a report to technical staff around the third week of September. Having gotten no response, I contacted a different tech last week, who confirmed that the Picture Pack was still being applied to the photos in my test listing, but some secondary process was not configuring the database to indicate supersize and zoom should be enabled. They had some investigating to do, and It sounded a bit sticky to me, so I'm glad customer service thinks it will be resolved soon.

It's also known as Gallery Plus. I was looking at a few of the recent items listed for sale and I don't see the picture pack option selected since they were listed using our quick listing tool.- Ok, found your answer!
Thanks so much for your patience with me on that! So, Gallery Plus only costs extra if your pictures do not meet the requirments of being at least 800 pixels on the longest side. If your pictures meet the requirement it is automatically added to the listing without you even opting in with the checkbox and it's free. However, right now, we are experiencing a known site issue where it's not working on some listings.

I don't see it in the listing by any of the pictures. I am glad we have these forum, at least others are having the problem until we or eBay figures it out. Gallery Plus is not.The CS response about automatically adding GalleryPlus/PicturePack to the listing is muddled.Picture Pack is free and its Supersize and Zoom are automatically added to the listing if your photos are at least 501 pixels on the long side. There is no surcharge if the photos are undersized. Recently, due to an eBay bug, photos uploaded from the Quick Lister tool do not trigger Supersize and Zoom inside listings, and that is the problem discussed in this thread. The problem does not exist for photos uploaded through the 'Advanced' or full-featured SYI (sell your item) listing form.Gallery Plus is an added option that costs extra, but it is also free (and is automatically applied) in some categories.
There is no picture size requirement for Gallery Plus, since the option merely pops open an extra view on the search page. Gallery Plus may display on the search page as 'Enlarge' (showing just photos) or as 'Quick View' (showing a photo with some item specifics), depending on the listing category. I have not heard of any recent problems with Gallery Plus.
